Our Story.
Danny Guerrero, MBA, is a passionate travel marketing executive and thought leader, is a trailblazer and force for good in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries. Danny’s efforts have activated crucial conversations and actions with travel brands to better reflect underrepresented audience needs and shifts in culture within brand marketing and communications rooted in multicultural consumer research. He championed industry-wide groundbreaking multicultural and inclusivity research supported by prolific travel brands such as Hilton, Choice Hotels International, Tripadvisor, New York City Tourism and the Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board on Black and Hispanic travelers, revealing these two segments alone represent nearly 30% of all U.S. travel spend, reaching a travel spend in excess of $280M+ on travel annually. His work has led to the bestowing of grants and funds to Black and diversity in travel organizations in excess of $100,000 to help empower underrepresented voices in travel marketing.
Danny launched The Culturist Group in 2021, the leading multicultural and inclusive brand marketing, and communications agency in travel to help empower travel brands and destinations to better connect with and welcome multicultural consumers, including intersectional LGBTQ+, Black, Hispanic, and other BIPIOC consumers. The Culturist Group has delivered award-winning brand marketing and communications campaigns for travel brands and destinations seeking to earn the trust of multicultural and diverse audiences including Brand USA, Events Industry Council, Sydney, Australia, Jalisco and Los Cabos, Mexico, Cayuga County, New York, Visit Fort Worth, Texas, Visit Carlsbad, California, and others.Danny possesses over 20 years of executive-level leadership in advertising, marketing, and communications for hospitality, destinations, and travel brands.
Danny received the David Martin Small Business Fellowship from the International LGBTQ Travel Association in 2022; the 2021 Outstanding Achievement Award from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) for advancing DEI in the tourism industry and the Chairman's Award by the National Coalition of Black Meeting Professionals for his work. In 2023 Danny helped to architect and launch the "Future of Travel" national research study and thought leadership initiative in partnership with Share More Stories, Esra Calvert Consulting, and JMI as a pioneering study in travel and tourism to reflect the intersectional needs of underrepresented travelers by observing emotional and culturally relevant indicators present in the travel experiences of diverse consumers.
Danny is a 2024 Executive MBA graduate from the UCLA Anderson School of Management with a certificate in entrepreneurship, and lives in Los Angeles with his husband Jaime.
